SummitLog was born out of the love of hiking and mountaineering. Our purpose is to provide a free and open register for the accomplishments of the community, available to everyone. Our goal is to replace the paper ledgers cluttering our mountain peaks and to help prevent the vandalism of people scrawling their name on trees and rocks.

SummitLog is not a commercial enterprise and is not profiting from the service provided. The QR codes provided for hikers at various summits are to replace any paper ledger and encourage the use of a virtual log instead of vandalising the trees and rocks. Please leave any SummitLog QR code on the summit in a clearly visible location.
